PETER Kerr took to the water like a duck to ... water.
On Australia Day (2008), his lifelong passion earned him the honour
of being named a Member (AM) in the general division of the Order of Australia.
Mr Kerr, a Cronulla boy born and bred, took up water polo at
Cronulla High School.
Like his brother Andrew, Mr Kerr represented Australia in
the sport in 1978 and 1979.
Since then, his involvement in the administration of the
sport has been continuous at all levels and he has risen to become president of
the Australian Water Polo Association in 1996, a position he still holds.
Mr Kerr also served as a referee at the Atlanta
and Sydney Olympics, giving the judges' oath on behalf of all Olympic Games
officials in 2000.
